So this time, instead of downloading and installing the Maxtor utility to my functioning hard drive, I needed to download and run a special app that would install the MaxBlast ISO software on a. MaxBlast 5 = Acronis True Image = Free While I was looking around the Seagate website I saw something that was interesting, so I further investigated. Seems Acronis made an imaging backup program for Seagate which when I looked was the exact copy of Acronis True Image with the exception being that it's a FREE download!

Hello everybody!
I have troubles installing Windows XP on my 200GB Maxtor S-ATA HDD. I have read from various topics that I should run MaxBlast 4 and do a low-level format on my hard drive. That would get rid of the 'error loading operating system' that I get on startup. But my only problem is, that I have valuable data on 3/4 partitions. I have 1 partition already formatted but not with MaxBlast. My question is: Can I do a low-level format to my hard drive with MaxBlast without formatting all partitions? Thank you very much!
